Live in Caregiver
 

This program helps applicants be employed as a caregiver while living with a Canadian family and gaining Canadian experience in Canada. If approved, the live-in caregiver can live in Canada for up to 2 years with a Canadian family before returning or applying for permanent residence. These qualified individuals can give privatized care for children, the elderly or those with disabilities in a private home environment. Live in caregivers must reside in the private home where they are employed while gaining work experience.

Basic Requirement

Those applicants that have at least 6 months of training or 12 months of work experience as a live-in caregiver can file an application for this type of visa. There are additional requirements that must also be met, and are as follows:
Completion of studies that are equivalent to Canadian secondary school education, 6 months training or 1 year of full time experience (at least 6 months with an employer) in the last 3 years.
From the future Canadian employer a written contract along with a job confirmation letter.
Also, the applicant must be efficient in English or French. Those that have experience in early childhood care, geriatric care, pediatric nursing or first aid care are considered usefull.
